Teenage Engineering EP-40 Riddim Supertone groovebox
Teenage Engineering
Some time ago, Teenage Engineering released the Medieval, a groovebox specifically aimed at a particular musical genre. This Teenage Engineering EP-40 Riddim Supertone is a groovebox with exactly the same form factor. However, this Riddim is focused on the musical culture of Jamaica. If Reggae and Dub are your thing, then this is finally a perfect match with a cool product! At its core, it's a groovebox with sampling capabilities. You get 12 stereo or 16 mono voices of polyphony. You can sample at the somewhat peculiar sample rate of 46 kHz, 16-bit. There's 128 MB of memory for sounds, and over 300 sounds are already included. These sounds (including, of course, the famous sirens) are hand-picked by iconic reggae producers. And of course, you get effects as well, which might be 50% of your production in this genre. In short: beach, palm tree, some stimulating substances, add this Riddim to the mix, and turns out life is pretty relaxed... yeah man!
