Martinelli Luce Cobra Scorpius Table Lamp, Blue
Martinelli Luce
Cobra Scorpius - Designer table lamp in new edition This luminous accessory goes back to the Cobra table lamp created by Italian architect and lighting designer Elio Martinelli in the 1960s. His daughter, Emiliana Martinelli, added a star effect to the design in the shape of the scorpion, her father's constellation. The structure is the same as the original Cobra table lamp: based on a sphere whose central section is cut out, what remains is a round base, a shade open at the bottom and a slender, curved connection. The latter is rotatable by 360°, so that the shade can be rotated horizontally as desired. The entire lamp is made of synthetic resin with a midnight blue finish; small openings in the shade create the aforementioned effect of small points of light. Like the other lamps of the series, Cobra Scorpius is also produced by the Italian family company Martinelli Luce, which was founded by Elio and which Emiliana heads today.
