Above the Pomedes refuge, in the heart of the Tofane, the first via ferrata of the Tofane was established in 1957. It climbs to the summit of the Tofana di Mezzo through exposed and vertical sections. It's said to be one of the hardest routes in the Dolomites, but also one of the most beautiful and panoramic... We had a great time on this via ferrata, we sweated, we rested, we suffered, and in the end, we found the satisfaction that only a day in the mountains can offer. As we descended into the valley, we often thought back to that suspended time, to the feelings that are still alive today. In the end, we couldn't resist, and this fleece that we still didn't know how to name was renamed Pomedes to remind us of that time spent seeking joy in our mountains.
