IC T1 Matte Black is part of the forward-thinking collection of table lamps, floor lamps, wall lamps and pendants that cling to their solid design DNA. Michael Anastassiades explains the inspiration for the collection as follows: “I remember watching a short film about a juggler, Tony Duncan, rolling a set of spheres in the palm of his hands and up on his arms. Hypnotised by his magical skills of making the spheres appear completely still, I wanted to capture the moment. Then I came across the old photographs of Paul Cinqeuvalli, capturing a moment in the art of contact juggling. That was my starting points. The acronym IC refers to the codes used by the British police to define the perceived ethnicity of the people they stop in the street when reporting back to the station. IC1 means white or northern European. IC2 means Mediterranean or Spanish-speaking. IC3 means African or Afro-Caribbean, etc. This story helps define the different designs.” All table and floor lamps are equipped with a dimmer on the cable.
