The chessmen are in cream and red and all feature excellent detail and decoration.\n\nTo celebrate this rich historical period, Berkeley Chess have crafted these stunning Medieval chess pieces based on a 14th Century German set. The pieces all feature excellent detail, such as on the reverse side of the Kings throne, where small depictions of warriors can be seen. Likewise, the Queens throne shows ladies in waiting and the Bishops throne, holy men and musicians. In the Rook can be seen the beginning of the introduction of the Castle into early European Chess.\n\nAll the Chess pieces have a good weight and feel to them and feature felted bottoms.
