Plant Theory

The easiest (and most forgiving) houseplant. Position: ideally bright, with some full sun, but will also tolerate shade Soil: general-purpose potting compost Rate of growth: slow Hardiness: tender (indoors only) Current height: approximately 45cm (+ or - 10% including the pot) Pot cover: choose a 16cm pot cover to give a good fit over the pot Mottled grey-green snake-like markings weave their way across long sword-like leaves. This award-winning houseplant has striking creamy-yellow margins. These robust plants can have a slightly weather-beaten appearance, sometimes with rough, brown edges and occasionally some minor leaf cracking can be seen. This does not affect the long-term health or vigour of the plant and simply adds to its charm! Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have Home care: Allow the soil to dry out completely before watering. Water thoroughly and allow to drain freely. Do not allow the plant to sit in water as this will cause root rot. In winter, reduce the frequency of watering and keep temperatures above 10C. Repot every few years when the roots start to out-grow the pot.
