Bonnets are made from 1.4404 grade stainless steel slats according to DIN 17441 with a thickness of 0.5 mm to 0.8 mm. They are mainly used for combustion gases and are resistant to the corrosive effects of acid condensate formed during the combustion process. Placing a hood on top of the chimney is an excellent way to prevent from flowing into the house. Stainless steel chimney lid designed specifically to easily finish factory made double wall insulated ducting systems. The chimney cover protects the top of the fireplace from water ingress, as well as animals and debris. Without a properly fitted chimney lid, the flue and chimney are completely exposed to rain water ingress.
