Since then, system enhancements have kept this AFV as a state of the art weapons system.\nThe M1A1's main armament is the 120mm M256 smoothbore gun with a 7.62mm M240 machine gun mounted coaxially on its right. Crammed with technical equipment, the M1A1 is equipped with an independent stabilised day and night vision device with 360 degree view, automatic sector scanning, automatic target cueing of the gunner's sight and back up fire control.\nThe combat effectiveness of the M1A1 has been proven in both Kuwait and Iraq conflicts where it dominated the battlefield.
