Trumpeter 1/72 Sd Kfz 8 Gepanzerte 12t Half Track\n\nGerman Armoured Artillery Tractor\n\n20mm Scale\n\nBrand new, sealed and unbuilt. \n\nRef No : TU07404\n\nDesigned as a tractor for towing heavy loads, the 12 ton Sd Kfz 8 was designed by Daimler Benz and was produced between 1937 and 1944 with around 4,000 being built by both Daimler Benz and Krupp. The Sd Kfz 8 had a Maybach, 12 cylinder 8.52 litre HL85 TUKRM petrol engine which produced 182hp. \n\nIts main role was as a tractor for heavier guns such as the 21 cm M\u00F6rser 18, the 17 cm Kanone 18 and the 10.5 cm Flak 38 where it served on all fronts during WWII. Initially it was designed to have a towing capacity of 12 tonnes but the wartime DB10 variant could tow 14 tonnes.\n\nWhile the Sd Kfz 8 was mostly used as an artillery tractor it was also used as a recovery vehicle.
