The most endangered carnivore in Africa is the Ethiopian wolf. It roams the Bale Mountains, where efforts are underway to protect its habitat from encroaching farmland. It is the only wolf native to Africa, where it devours mole rats and tries to avoid people as its forests slowly shrink.
