Sow seeds thinly over the surface and lightly cover with a little more compost. Place in warmth (10–15°C) and keep moist.Growing OnKeep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant to 5cm apart into trays of potting compost, or individually into small pots.Hardening Off / Planting OutGradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out. Allow 30cm between plants.AdvicePick leaves or sprigs often to encourage young new growth. A light annual trim with shears after flowering will neaten the bush. Do not trim too hard, as thyme does not regrow from old wood. Can be used fresh or dried.
