Sow seeds thinly over the surface, but do not cover them with compost. Place in warmth, 18–25°C, and keep moist. Dry conditions will prevent the seeds from germinating.Growing OnKeep seedlings in a light position, but shade from direct sunlight. When large enough to handle, transplant individually into 8 cm pots of potting compost.Hardening Off / Planting OutGradually accustom plants to outside conditions for 2–3 weeks before planting out when danger of frost has passed. Allow 30 cm between plants. Choose a sheltered spot in full sun. Particularly suited to planting in patio pots or hanging baskets. Water well in dry weather and feed plants regularly with a liquid fertiliser.AdviceThis seed is tiny and needs handling with care to avoid crushing. For extra protection and ease of sowing, it is pelleted and filled into a fine seed sower.
