Thompson & Morgan Spinach Helios F1 Hybrid is a nutrient-rich and tasty spinach variety that is easy to grow at home, providing a long harvest period throughout the year. Enjoy fresh spinach in just a few weeks with successive sowings. This hybrid produces thicker leaves that resist bolting in mid-summer, offering excellent taste and texture, perfect for salads. Sow directly outdoors from March to September in well-prepared, fertile, moist soil, in full sun or semi-shade. For early spring and late autumn harvests, sow under cloches or in a cold greenhouse. Sow seeds thinly at 1cm depth in drills 30cm apart, thinning to 5cm when large enough to handle. Use the thinned baby leaves in salads. Sow every 3-4 weeks for a continuous supply. Water regularly to prevent bolting and hoe to control weeds. A thick mulch will help retain soil moisture. Harvest by picking individual leaves for a constant supply of young growth, or pull up mature plants.
