Ideal for growing in full sun in beds, borders, dry banks and rockeries, the leaves appear to be sprinkled with ice crystals. Leaves can be eaten raw, mainly used as a spinach substitute.Sow late winter to spring at 15-20C (60-70F) in John Innes Seed Compost. Sow seed on surface of compost and gently firm down compost. Keep soil damp but not wet, but do not exclude light, which is beneficial to germination. Sealing in a polythene bag after sowing is also helpful.
