Thompson & Morgan Amaranthus Caudatus Fat Spike 100 Seeds - Red Tassel Flower - Edible Leaves - June to October Flowering

Thompson & Morgan

Amaranthus Caudatus Fat Spike is a sun loving border plant that will produce bushy flower spikes in a deep burgundy / purple shade. The leaves are edible and can be eaten like Spinach – ideal for summer salads. Will flower from June through until October.Sow February to March in pots or trays of moist seed compost and cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Keep at a constant temperature of between 20-25C (68-77F). During germination, allow the temperature to reduce at night. This will occur naturally if using a heated propagator is avoided. After sowing, do not exclude light as this helps germination. Keep the surface of the compost moist but not waterlogged; germination will usually take 3-15 days. When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm (12in) apart. For best results, provide any ordinary, well-drained soil in full sun.Product Specifications: 1 x seed packet (containing 100 seeds per pack)Position: Full SunHeight: Up to 120cm (47.2in) when fully establishedSpread: Up to 60cm (23.6in) when fully establishedSupplied as Flower Seed - Amaranthus Caudatus Fat Spike – Half Hardy Annual 1 Packet (100 seeds) by Thompson and MorganImages shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity.
