Pear 'Conference' is the UK’s most popular pear variety – and for good reason. This versatile fruit can be enjoyed firm and crisp straight from the tree or ripened to a soft, juicy texture with a sweet, mellow flavour. It’s ideal for eating fresh or using in cooking and baking. The attractive, long, bell-shaped fruits are produced late in the season, from October to November, and can be stored well into January for extended enjoyment. ‘Conference’ is partially self-fertile, so it will produce some fruit alone, but crops are significantly improved with a pollination partner nearby.
