Sage is a perennial shrub with grey-green leaves. Best with pork, duck and goose, and excellent with onions, fish, cheese and liver. It's also a fantastic plant for attracting honey bees to your garden, helping to support pollination. Harvest May-October. Height 50-60cm (20-24"); spread 50-60cm (20-24").Sowing InformationIn Mar-May sow thinly direct into finely raked, moist, warm soil at a depth of about 13mm ( 1?2"). Germination takes 10-21 days. Thin seedlings to 38cm (15") between plants. Can also be sown late Feb-Mar in a propagator on a windowsill at approx. 15-20°C (60-68°F). Transplant seedlings into 15cm (6") pots or direct outside. Grows best in well cultivated soil in a sunny position. To dry sage for winter use, hang stems in an airy shed or garage; when dry rub finely. Store in airtight containers.
