Pale Rye Malt is used to add a stronger flavour and an additional layer of complexity to the flavour of a beer and is designed more for inclusion in Ales rather than for the actual production of Rye Beer.\n\nAs a contribution to the mash, this malt adds hints of toffee / caramel and produces a spicy after palate. Rye Pale Malt also aids head retention, and gives beers a more reddish hue and provides the distinctive spicy notes typical of a Rye Beer.\n\nUsed as an additional grain it can account for up to 25% of the malt being used dependent on the recipe in ales and up to 50% of the grain bill when making Rye Beers.\n\nThis malt is produced by Warminster Malts, has a colour of 6 EBCs and is supplied ready crushed in 500g, 1Kg, 3Kg and 5Kg packs.
