This Code Boomer coated 13-inch snare drum batter sheet was designed in collaboration with Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain. The head is suitable for heavier drums and is a somewhat thicker single ply head. Because this is a single ply skin, it also has quite a lot of projection and volume with a clear sound. In the middle is the so-called "reverse donut dot" - a dot for damping at the back of the sheet with a small cutout to let just enough overtones through. The edge of the sheet is made with what is known as "Grip-Tight" technology, a solid steel core with a knurled edge that holds the sheet enormously tight, encased in aviation-grade aluminium. Now that's real heavy metal!
