If you are looking for a coated snare drum batter sheet for somewhat harder styles of music, then you should try this 14-inch Code Boomer. The sheet was developed in collaboration with Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain. It is a single-layer sheet, so it automatically projects a bit more volume and a clear sound. To accommodate heavy-hitters, this single ply sheet is also slightly thicker, allowing it to last longer. In the middle is the so-called "reverse donut dot" - a dot for damping at the back of the sheet with a small cutout to still let just enough overtones through. The edge of the sheet is made with what is known as "Grip-Tight" technology, a solid steel core with a knurled edge that holds the sheet enormously tight, encased in aviation-grade aluminium.
