Now unveiling the latest in the Lochlea core range of single malts, a series centred around their key values of quality, provenance, and character. Proud of their provenance, each of the expressions in this collection use Lochlea's own barley and are distilled and matured entirely on-site in the heart of Ayrshire, Scotland. The Orchard & Oak release, bottled at 46% abv, was matured in a combination of first-fill Bourbon, Virgin American Oak, and Calvados casks, giving it a bright, fruit-forward profile. On the nose, expect sweet apple notes, earthy, fresh cut grass and lightly floral notes. On the palate, you'll taste a contiunation of the fresh apple fruitiness, this time undercut with buttery caramel and oaky spice. Rounding off this refreshing experience is light cereal, sweet oak, and more caramel.
