Small uniform shape and size.. allowing greater surface area of up to 100% over standard sulphur beads/ pearls\n\nA slow water feed is used to flow through the sulphur beads and allows anaerobic bacteria to grow. The bacteria then feeds on nitrates and turns the nitrate into a gas. \n\nWhen used within a Nitrate Reactor with Marine or High Ph freshwater systems, we recommend to use in conjunction with the calcium based media.... the sulphur will run at around ph6-6.5.. the calcium will buffer ph back to around ph7.8 - 8.2 depending on bio-load.\n\nRecommended to rinse media in water before use.
