Natural and handmade - made from real white fir - Our fermentation buckets are made from solid, untreated white fir wood - a low-resin, food-safe material with centuries-old tradition. The wood is splinter-free, tasteless and open-pored - perfect for lactic fermentation without plastic or coating. Care - without chemicals - hot water is enough for cleaning. Please do not use detergent, vinegar or aggressive cleaners - the open-pored wood can absorb residues that affect subsequent fermentation processes or the taste of the contents. After rinsing, allow the bucket to air dry open ️ IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE THE FIRST USE - Before first use, fill the bucket completely with cold water and leave for at least 6-8 hours (preferably overnight). As a result, the wood fibres swell and seal off any gaps naturally - without plastics or sealants. This step is absolutely necessary, as untreated wood can still easily let water through. Available in four sizes - for every need - Whether beginners or storage professionals: our wooden buckets come in four sizes (5L, 10L, 15L, 25L) - for small quantities, weekly fermentation routines or the large family kitchen. So you can choose exactly the volume that suits your needs. Stable & well thought out - with metal strapping and handles - galvanised metal tyres reliably stabilise the bucket - even with full contents. Side mounted steel handles ensure safe carrying. Larger models are also equipped with clamping mechanism - for perfect grip and long-term use. With press lid - ideal for sauerkraut, kimchi etc. - Each fermentation bucket comes with a custom-fit wooden lid that is placed directly on the vegetables. This keeps the fermentation food safe under the lake - without an airtight seal. Fermentation gases escape naturally, the fermentation process remains undisturbed. Recommended weighting - matching ceramic stones for each model - For the best possible fermentation result, we recommend our two-piece weighted stones made of stoneware ceramic (sold separately). They are simply placed on the pressing board to increase the pressure on the fermentation material. This keeps the vegetables reliably under the lake, which is essential for safe, even fermentation.
