70cl / 48.50% - Ncnean Huntress Malted Teacake is the fifth release in the experimental Huntress series, inspired by the Gaelic goddess who gave the brand its name: Neachneohain. The range echoes her singular outlook, and as far as Malted Teacake is concerned, you can probably guess what flavour direction the brand went in. Its made up of whisky distilled between 2019 and 2022, fermented using Anchor, Fermentis, and Belgian Ale Yeast. This is very much a fermentation experiment inspired by Scotch whiskys past. Aged in 50% STR red wine, 48% bourbon and 2% oloroso sherry casks, the standard house style barrel selection, it boasts notes of baked cake, fig marmalade, and hot buttered toast. A total of 4,386 bottles were filled at 48.5% ABV. As usual with Ncnean, its 100% organic Scottish barley, 100% renewable-powered copper stills, and 100% recycled glass bottles, vegan, gluten-free, and B-Corp certified.
