First To Fight 1/72 155mm Howitzer M1918\n\nUS Field Howitzer\n\n20mm Scale\n\nNew, sealed and unbuilt. \n\nRef No : FTF088\n\nThe US bought 1,503 French Canon de 155 C mod\u00E8le 1917 Schneider and used them in WWI as their standard field howitzer. In addition to these weapons, the US also produced 626 under license as the 155mm Howitzer M1918. It differed from the French howitzer having a straight gun shield and rubber tyres instead of steel tyres on the spoked wheels. It also featured a pivoting spade and different firing mechanism. WWI ended before the new M1918 could be shipped to France.\n\nBetween the wars, the M1918 was upgraded with metal wheels, pneumatic tyres to allow them to be towed by motor transport. By 1940, over 2,970 M1917 and M1918 howitzers had been converted.
